Princess Kate Visits New Zealand in Style

Princess Kate is down under visiting gorgeous New Zealand for her inaugural visit. She has brought husband, baby and her amazing wardrobe along with her. Though I sometimes feel her style can be defined as Queen in Training, her custom designed Jenny Packham black dress here is a stunner and even catapults her style to another level. It is way more than an LBD. It is embellished with the distinctly New Zealand symbol of the Silver Fern. Legend has it that the plant once lived in the water and had the strength to survive on land, too. A beautiful dress and like everything she wears, it fits perfectly. The details here are stunning. Not overdone and quite symbolic of her visit down under. Good on her. 

FYI: New Zealand is still a part of the British Commonwealth with their allegiance to Crown. 

Just a thought: The Duchess wore a wedding dress that cost $400,000, has custom made pieces like this Jenny Packham, is photographed in many a designer piece but I do wonder if she ever just wants to wear jeans?

We love the Oscars and all of the glamour that Awards Season brings but let's look behind the scenes and into those goody bags that are offered up to every nominee of the evening. That's right. Each nominee gets a gift worth a staggering $85,000 per bag, and we think that this may be the best honor of the evening. So...every nominee is sort of a winner-yay! Not really.

But what exactly was in the bag of goodies for the Oscars 2014? Distinctive Assets was behind this year's picks and a company spokesperson said they were overwhelmed with companies seeking inclusion in this year's bags. There is something for everyone and it's rumored that a majority of the goodies make it into the hands of celebrity assistants, publicists, and the like. Gifts ranging in price from a few dollars to thousands all recipients should consider themselves lucky. Here is a slideshow of all the Oscar goodies but we have a few highlights of our own. A $2,500 home spa experience, $1,600 worth of premium dog goods, a trip to Hawaii and a huge pet shelter donation from host Ellen DeGeneres are all included. Plus check out a few others below. Real Luxury Shopping: Most Expensive Nail Polish

As a writer my job requires me to constantly research some topic or another. Shopping is always one of them and in a recent search, I came across something very interesting. Now  I always try to keep it very real and fresh so I decided to step outside the box to let you know how the other (richer) half lives. I don't know how lucky any of you are in your own real lives but here is something strictly for the top 1%. It is the world's most expensive nail polish offered at a whopping $250,000 per bottle. Yes. Per bottle. The company is Azature and they are the self-proclaimed "king of the black diamond" and this title is very well deserved as each bottle contains over 267 of the luxury jewels. Very fancy and the top shoppers can rest assured that the finish is 100% real glimmering bling. 

$250K is way out of my budget but there is a scaled down version of the luxury polish available at Fred Segal for an extremely more modest $25. That's a bit easier on the pocket and will feature a single a feature black diamond in each bottle. How fabulous is all that?
