We’ll meet the captivating Princess Snow White, the prince, the evil queen and seven mischievous dwarfs — Sarge, Gabby, Gloomy Gus, Ticklish, Spritely, Snore, and Slowpoke, but that's not all! There’s also a hilarious palace cat and an enchanted vixen. Following the traditional storyline, the fairy tale is brought to life with an eclectic score of toe-tapping tunes.

Family Fun: Action Karts

It was one of those weekends that flew by due to the dauntingly busy schedules that large families bring. Every child has their need and accommodating this all together creates a fast and furious time warp. And on the note of fast, we found ourselves enjoying a brief stop at Action Karts. Ages 8+ can enjoy lap after lap of high speed fun sold in 10 minute increments. Friendly service and a safe clean track deliver the perfect pit stop for fun times.

The Court Theatre 2015/16

Christchurch is a city blessed with art. True artists flock to the city and The Court Theatre is the I Ching for stage performance in The Garden City.

I most recently attended a charity event and Ali Harper was the  entertainment for the evening that helped raised money for devastation in the city.

There are a plethora of we'll-produced events this time of year so grab the 2015/16 Season brochure for details. I've never been disappointed at The Court. You won't be either.

Christchurch City Libraries Book Sale

Book and sale are two of my favorite words so when the Christchurch City Libraries Annual Book Sale was announced, we were overwhelmed. Events are at Pioneer Recreation and Sport Centre. There are books for all of us moms, dads, kids and babies. The artist, hobbyist, techie, musician and dabbler will all find book prices to shop with the best of them. With children's books priced at $1 and that is just the start of it. 

Hours are as follows:
Friday March 21       9-7 (note the later hours tonight)
Saturday March 22  9-4

Ample parking but come early  to #shopsmart and though they provide bags, bring your own! It's good for the earth and there are a lot of books. We went this morning and are now off to shop for a bookshelf...or two.

Pay with cash and EFTPOS only.
Pool and coffee bar in the same facility. Check available hours.

Captioned Christchurch

I recently went on a photography biking tour through downtown Christchurch. We observed so many things: revived turn of the century architecture, earthquake riddled buildings, a pavillion of palettes and of course, abundant foliage that boasts images rarely seen by the outside world. It is a gem of a city some would say and we biked, stopped, unloaded and shot more times than I can count but it was worth every pedal pushed. I'm exhausted so let me quickly present what we've chosen as our top shot from the bike tour.

Imagine Youth Theatre Presents: Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs

We are so excited to announce that starting this Thursday, Imagine Youth Theatre will be performing Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs. Martin Howells and Helen Moran's devotion to this production has been admirable. Engaging  children is not an easy fete but through their love of the theatre and painstakingly fun and focused rehearsals, Helen & Martin have done it.
