If you are looking for something amazing to do tonight in Christchurch then I have the event for you that The Ministry of Awesome brought my attention to. Tonight, LUXCITY, a city made entirely of lights just for one night, will be opened to the public. It is the opening night of the Festival of Transitional Architecture (FESTA) and over 250 students came together to create 16 light installations for this amazing city revival. According to the LUXCITY website:
"The designs will use light in conjunction with large-scale demolition machinery to create structures that are both ephemeral and contend with the vastness of the urban scale."
Will you be going to this spectacular event? The use of lights to create wishful visions of the city is sure to be breathtaking so don't miss this once in a lifetime chance to see this contemporary art masterpiece. It is an event of hope and change that strives to uplift the city from the past events.
The event will run tonight from 6:30 until midnight. See venue map below.
