A Box For Mother & Nature.

My children are all very different. One is a reader, one is a dreamer and the other is a collector. Here is a small sampling of what he brought home this week from school.

He is our Nature Boy and we have always fostered his outside interest. Complete immersion mud play and rock houses have been a part of our lives for as long as I can remember. He brings home acorns, sticks and pebbles pretty much everyday.Who knows what this behavior this could lead to. A career of geological study or maybe he could dig deeper and create the life of a paleontologist? This is wishful thinking of course but for now, I was in need of a organizational way to harness all of the natural junk.

It is amazing what can be boxed up and still be accessible. These types of boxes are perfect for the wee ones to keep it all together. They can still see what's inside and  open/close with ease. Children are brilliant and can be responsible for their habits early on. Reusable boxes for their organization makes it simple and easy for them to learn a great habit: organization.

I strive for organization and I say strive because as I type this, I have chores galore for this dreary Saturday afternoon that are being avoided. Not a very organized life today. Nontheless, I want to instill this useful life skill into them as early as possible. Because of this box he now has a place to put things which gives him more incentive to find more treasures. He also is confident and proud to show off his stuff.  He goes to it like clockwork now to place the days findings in and keeps it on the same exact shelf for easy access. Nature gives us oodles to collect and enjoy. It is up to Mothers to try & keep it all nice and neat.
