It Really Is A New Year

Tools used: embosser & linen envelopes
Today we shipped out the last of our New Year's cards to our friends and family. It really must be a new year because this task is usually not completed in our house until mid-January. I guess we are starting the year off pretty well, my friends! Here  they are all stacked up and ready to go. What is unseen is that I also emboss the back flap of each piece of correspondence that goes out. It makes it more personal and I like the old-worldliness of it. It also looks simply gorgeous. When my carpal tunnel starts getting to me, the children definitely come in handing with helping to press the embosser. They enjoy licking a sealing until they claim that they like the way the glue tastes. (This is my cue to fire the free little help.)

Though I beat last years record for sending our our New Year's cards, it is never too late to send a note. Even if it is just because. Send one. We actually used Shutterfly to create our personal card this year and photos cards are so hot right now. I have seen some of the most beautiful photo cards this year that they inspired me to do mine. I usually handcraft or order personalized holiday cards but this year I broke with tradition to create a new tradition and was pleased with both the outcome & my timeliness. Happy New Year!
